SLOW
Slow and steady wins the race.
Enough said why the name was chosen by this up and coming humble Norwegian act. The two have for years been messing around and occasionally working hard to produce something special. “There are people who actually hate Beethoven, so it's hard to please everyone, but we are proud of our songs and hopefully there will be a few Likers out there!"
The influences are hard to identify in this uniquely creative duo, although bassist Stian admits to being a King Crimson addict and vocalist Kevin used to be a huge fan of Pink Floyd and Queen. Their new EP Monsters and Friends is a powerful statement with dark and melancholic songs about love lost and found, tenderness and tragedies.
It will be Released 20. November
KEVIN THON
Kevin has been playing guitar (mostly classical) and making sounds forever. He’s reluctant to using the terms “guitarist” and “vocalist” , living together with professional flamenco guitarist and vocalist Bettina Flater. “She really likes our music, but also loves to make fun of all our studio equipment and the fact that we have more guitars than fans”. They have a son, Liam who is featured around on this site.
Kevin works as an IT (Oracle) Consultant when not doing daddy and SLOW stuff. Current hobbies are photography, chess and flyfishing(!)
STIAN VILMING
Stian started playing bass at age 15 and then guitar at age 17. He has played in several bands since. Over the years he has transformed his apartment building into a small Studio (Studio VilmingThon) where most of SLOW's music is recorded. He has learned the hard way that the tenants don’t appreciative the late night jams.. “We have this guy downstairs who sneaks up and pulls the fuse from time to time - forcing us to play unplugged haha”.
Stian is an educated engineer and works as a Solution Architect for NetNordic where he doesn’t get to play bass or walk in the Norwegian wilderness as much as wants. He has two kids, Marte and Sondre
